Christ the King Bidding Prayers for the 19th Sunday in Ordinary Time (year A)

Priest: In these uncertain times we hear Our Lord saying ‘Do not be afraid’, and so, in faith and hope, we turn to the Father and ask Him to answer our prayers.

Reader: The response to our prayers is “Hear our prayer”

  1. May the Church hear Your voice in the gentle breeze as she seeks to discern the way forward in a post-covid world.

Pause

Lord, in Your mercy: Hear our prayer.

  1. May we emerge from the covid virus as a more compassionate and caring society.

Pause

Lord, in Your mercy: Hear our prayer

  1. We pray for the city of Beirut; for those who died in the explosion and those who grieve; for those who were injured, for those who are now homeless and have lost everything. We pray for the rescue workers, those caring for the sick and injured, those bringing food and shelter. We ask you to enfold this shattered city in Your love and healing power.

Pause

Lord, in Your mercy: Hear our prayer.

  1. We pray for allthose in our 3 Churches who are sick, especially those in hospital, who cannot see their loved ones. May they have a strong sense of their love.

Pause

Lord, in Your mercy: Hear our prayer

  1. We remember all our parishioners who have died recently; receive them into the joy of Your heavenly kingdom, and comfort those who mourn for them.

Pause

Lord, in Your mercy: Hear our prayer.

In a few moments’ silence let us pray for all the other needs we hold in our hearts.

            Pause

We ask Mary to join our prayers to her own, us as we say

Hail Mary ….

Priest: Heavenly Father, we ask you to look kindly on our prayers and heal our ravaged world. We ask this through your Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen

Returning to public mass in our churches

Dear parishioners and friends of our 3 Churches:

We are very happy to announce that later this week we will return to public mass in our churches. As you will see below, we will begin on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th with Mass at St Brigid’s at 9.30am, continuing at Christ the King Saturday 6pm and Sunday 9am, and then St Brigid’s Sunday 10.30am and 6pm.

  • at these Masses we will welcome all who wish to come up to the limit for each Mass. If the numbers require it, on future weekends we will operate some kind of “booking” system
  • however, remember that the Sunday Obligation is still lifted – you might want to consider coming on a different day to allow needy parishioners to come at their convenience
  • 10.30 Mass at St Brigid’s will continue to be live streamed for the foreseeable future
  • to comply with directives, there can be no mass sheets or hymn books, and various other restrictions to enable things to run smoothly – to this end please follow the stewards’ assistance – for example by not lingering in the buildings after mass
  • Stewards – obviously more stewards are needed for public mass,  please consider whether you can offer this service and contact Ansti at anstic2018@yahoo.com (St Brigid’s) or Marie at llanishen@rcadc.org (Christ the King)
  • St Paul’s have also started the process of opening the church, so watch this space

It will be wonderful to be able to be back together again. We are very grateful to all those who have worked so hard to get us to this point. Well done!
